Fundraisers and Donations

Dear CCA Family and Ministry Partners,

The 2016-2017 school year marks our 44th year of ministry and the 25th year since the establishment of the development program. The funding gap between the amount school families’ pay and the actual cost of education averages between 25% and 32%. Over the past 25 years, over $5 million has been raised through these efforts to benefit CCA and our school families. CCA’s development office continues to strive to develop these alternative funding sources through our Annual Fund, Golf Marathon, and other fundraisers. Last year, saw our Lord bless this program with over $342,000 to help CCA bridge the gap and allow our leadership to freeze tuition prices at the current level with no increase for the 2016-2017 school year. This is a step of faith, but we serve a great God!

As CCA strives to provide a quality, Christ-centered education for our student body, the primary goals of our development program remain the same as in 1992: to better provide for our faculty and staff (starting salary for a first year teacher with ACSI accreditation is only $16,000), to improve our school through our affiliation with the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, to upgrade and improve our facilities, and to offer tuition assistance. Through the development program, CCA has been able to supplement teacher salaries, upgrade our educational equipment and facilities, and provide many families with financial assistance.  Each year nearly $40,000 has been offered to help families who qualify with tuition assistance and scholarships.

Another program that is offered to help parents is the SCRIP gift card program.  Most area companies and businesses offer money back to help with tuition payments with the purchase of their gift cards.  Contact the school office for more information and a list of participating businesses and the percentage given back. Your family can save hundreds of dollars by participating and having other family members and friends to sign up too.

CCA's student body is represented by many area churches. It has been wonderful to watch the spirit of cooperation grow among our area pastors, their church families, and Calvary Christian Academy!  A special thank you to the following area churches who regularly support CCA.  They are Berean Baptist Church, Fort Ashby, WV—Pastor Rick Riley, CCA alumnus; Calvary Baptist Church, Cresaptown, MD—Pastors Bruce McBride and Mike Lashbaugh; Cornerstone Baptist Church, Cumberland, MD—Pastors Dave Hattenfield, Dave McGrew, and Dave Mihailovich, CCA alumnus; Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, MD—Pastor Greg Miller and Pastor Emeritus Ken Korns; God’s Ark of Safety, Frostburg, MD—Pastor Everett Spence and Pastor Emeritus Richard Greene; Faith Presbyterian Church, LaVale, MD—Pastor Lee Capper; The Church Triumphant—Pastor Gene Cecil; and Tri State Ministry Center—Pastor Stevie Leydig, CCA alumnus.  It is great to see the spirit of cooperation among our area churches and community who believe in CCA and Christian education and are willing to support it financially and with their prayers. This partnership and outpouring of love for our ministry has made it possible for us to continue to provide the Christian families of our area a quality, Christ-centered education alternative.

Please consider joining in the support of CCA and pray about getting involved by investing in our student body and staff. Our theme for this year is "Raising the Next Generation-to reflect Christ.” Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:10

In His love and service,

Rusty Kitzmiller
